Dimitri Payet admits he did not enjoy......
...his final weeks at West Ham as French star opens up on Marseille return

Dimitri Payet left West Ham in acrimonious circumstances in January
The French international rejoined Marseille in a dramatic £25m deal
He admits that he did not enjoy the Slaven Bilic's defensive style
Dimitri Payet has hit out at Slaven Bilic's defensive style of football as he reveals the reasons behind his acrimonious departure from West Ham in January.
The French star rejoined Marseille in a £25m deal earlier this year in a move that angered supporters after the manager revealed he did not want to play for the club again.
After a lacklustre end to his Hammers career, the 29-year-old already has three goals in eight appearances for his new club.

And Payet has lifted the lid on his controversial exit from the London Stadium, admitting to French newspaper L'Equipe: 'Our way of approaching matches, the defensive system put in place did not please me.
'You can say that it bothered me, yes. I got through games without any pleasure.

'I had had contact with Marseille and most notably with Rudi Garcia, who had a philosophy that I knew well. The choice was quick. If I waited six months I would lose six months.'
Payet reveals that he snapped after West Ham's fortuitous home win over Hull in December, secured thanks to a Mark Noble penalty.
The result lifted Bilic's side five points above the drop zone, but Payet knew that he risked going backwards if he remained with the Premier League club.
'With West Ham at home against Hull, we won 1-0 and they hit the post four times. In the changing room everyone was happy, but the the man of the match that day was the post.
'I thought that I would not have room for improvement. On the contrary, I risked regressing. I need another challenge.'

Waited until we had our first bad spell since he flounced off to try and regain some of his reputation with a story he hopes the fans will relate to.
Can't stand the little moody cunt and his dumb face face and naff 10 year old hairdo.

Clearly there were personal issues driving this.

Yes we had to knuckle down and get some results and we had a couple of hard-fought 1-0 wins.

Typical Frenchman - going gets tough and they start whining and head for the door.

Re: Dimitri Payet admits he did not enjoy......
It's fairly obvious why he has come out with this now. He can't be unaware of the massive slagging he has received in the French media and from the public (phone ins, BTL comments online etc) for his disgraceful behaviour in refusing to play, his greed and his perceived lack of ambition in moving back to OM.

Even OM's fans have not welcomed him universally. He's trying to salvage his image by coming out with an alternative version of what happened.

It's not really going too well for him. Which is amusing.

Re: Dimitri Payet admits he did not enjoy......
Probably some truth there but that is not why he left. Why bring it all back up again with a new excuse 2 months after he left? More like he knows that he has come out of this looking like the little french brat that he is and has played on this to make himself look better.

Was happy enough at the time to take his 1m loyalty bonus.

He is an ungrateful peice of shit and I am glad he is gone. Having said that, I defy anyone to say they haven't been disappointed with the last two transfer windows or watching us play this season in comparison to last.

He was going backwards with us? Maybe if he hadn't start to pile on the pounds he'd still be the player we made him last season.

He's not very bright tbf

He said the August transfer window was handled badly by us, as we put a 100€ on his head?

Did he expect a "for sale" sign put up by the club he was contracted to instead?

May the cunt get a career ending injury

Re: Dimitri Payet admits he did not enjoy......
Don't get fooled by the French accent; Payet is like a lot of footballers and not particularly blessed in the brain dept. In amongst all the stuff about 'boredom' and 'going back as a player' and the Hull v post match he says “Slaven Bilic knew I wanted to go elsewhere. We discussed it when I returned from Euro2016”. In other words, Payet wanted to go last August and the rest is waffle. It's not because we didn't sign anyone to complement his skills, He would have spoken to Bilic before the summer transfer window had even closed!

Don't get me wrong Payet's a cunt but was he promised big names coming in the summer like we were, instead we got a Juve reserve who could not hit a barn door with a banjo from a yard away and all the rest of the shit brought in on the cheap by are owners

Probably six of one and half a dozen of the other and unlikely all the facts will be revealed. I do wonder whether it would have Been different if we had brought a top striker in to get on the end of his assists??
